Our range of funeral vehicles

Our motor fleet is made up of a modern matching Mercedes hearse and limousine in addition to a vintage 1955 Austin hearse, the hearse that was used in the ITV drama ‘Heartbeat’. Our Mercedes range of funeral vehicles has been specifically designed and built by funeral vehicle specialist Binz. This modern Mercedes hearse has glass side panels and a unique large glass panel in the roof, which allows more light through to display the coffin.

Our comfortable, fully air-conditioned matching Mercedes limousine will seat seven people and is driven by one of our experienced and uniformed chauffeurs. We can also provide extra limousines if required.

Horse-drawn hearses

In 1991, Joseph Geldart & Sons reintroduced horse-drawn hearses to the Yorkshire area after an absence of almost 70 years. We have 3 carriages in total, with 2 of them dating back to 1850 and 1900, respectively. Both are Marston hearse carriages.

All our carriages are drawn by 2 beautiful, black Friesian horses.
Our stables are located at Hollow Drift Farm, Roker Lane in Pudsey.

Mourners can either walk behind the horse drawn hearse, or we can, of course, provide a mourner’s carriage or a Mercedes limousine for the purpose.

A very family friendly, professional funeral service.

Hadrian was such a great support to myself and my daughters when my husband passed just before Christmas. My husband, who was terminally ill met Hadrian about 6 months before to organize his own funeral….Hadrian carried it out to the letter as did the celebrant he had put is touch with! He even added a little touch himself which my husband would have found highly amusing.
I found Hadrian professional at all times but also so very easy going which made such a heartbreaking time so much easier….Thank you Hadrian and team!

Outstanding Professionalism

Based in Scotland and with our close family member passing in Leeds I relied solely upon reviews and then recommendations.

Hadrian had time and patience to go over documents and paperwork over the telephone, we exchanged numerous forms and covered all the legalities via telephone and post with such ease. Despite the 224 mile distance between us I felt comforted and assured he had everything in hand.

Given the distance we highlighted a few of our wishes and Hadrian and his team delivered on them all. A Scottish bagpiper was arranged and exceeded our expectations, the recommended celebrant could not have done a better job and the floral arrangements and coffin design/type again exceeded all our expectations.

Arriving from Scotland days prior Hadrian welcomed us into his own home to meet with himself and the celebrant to discuss the finer details and for this we are extremely grateful. Quality of service, the manner of timing and kindness shown was truly exceptional!

Professional and courteous service throughout.

Hadrian and his team offer all the required support and advice at a time when you may be,as I was, in severe shock and barely able to function.
Hadrians easy manner and wealth of experience makes an unbearable time so much easier.
Sadly ours was not a straightforward case and involved complications with the coroner and problematical delays.
Hadrian took it all in his stride and arranged a Saturday funeral to ease the pressure.He and his staff gave up their Saturday off without hesitation.
The presentation of the horses and carriage was simply superb.(The turnout of the human staff was also excellent.)
Our little princess was given a legendary send off in an almost celebratory atmosphere which masked our deep sadness,and made an horrendous occasion bearable.
Words cannot really describe how grateful I am to Hadrian and his excellent team.
I would recommend them to one and all. They really are “Simply the best”
